Professor Rakesh Kanda from Brunel University London in UK visits our hospital to promote international summer campus activities
On November 28, Professor Rakesh Kanda, Vice Dean of College of Health and Life Sciences, Brunel University London in UK, and Monica Yang, International Partnerships Manager at Brunel University London, visited National and Local Joint Engineering Research Center for Precision Surgery and Regenerative Medicine (Surgical Dreamworks) of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU）. Yan Hong, Vice President of XJTU, Lyu Yi, Assistant to President, Liu Jiankang, President of School of Life Science and Technology of XJTU, Wu Xiaojian, Deputy Director of Human Resources Department of Health Science Center and Wu Rongqian, Deputy Director of National and Local Joint Engineering Research Center for Precision Surgery and Regenerative Medicine attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Professor Wu Rongqian.
Professor Rakesh Kanda and his delegation delivered a visit to our hospital to discuss the joint student training by two sides, scientific research cooperation and the specific issues for students from Brunel University London attending the Surgical Innovation and Practice Training Course summer campus activities in our hospital next year.
Professor Lyu Yi introduced the profiles of Health Science Center of XJTU and our hospital. Subsequently, Professor Rakesh Kanda briefly illustrated the discipline development and current status of international cooperation and exchange at Brunel University London, aiming to promote the international summer campus. He stressed that Omara, a student from Brunel University London highly recognized the Surgical Innovation and Practice: Magnetic Surgical Technology Innovation Training Course organized in 2019 and regarded it as experience full of surprises. Finally, the representatives from our university and Professor Rakesh Kanda reached a basic consensus on the joint student training program.
Professor Lyu Yi expressed that the visiting by Professor Rakesh Kanda will promote the cooperation between two universities and our side is willing to upgrade Surgical Innovation and Practice Training Course into an international summer campus activity. We warmly welcome the students from Brunel University London to attend the training course. Liu Jiankang, President of School of Life Science and Technology of XJTU was highly interested in participating in the preparations for the international summer campus activities, hoping that bilateral sides can explore further cooperation in scientific research projects. Vice President Yan Hong expects to strengthen the medical cooperation between two sides, providing an excellent learning and exchange platform for students from two universities.
